Founder · Fractional First®
Redefining how modern fractional organisations build resilience within constraint. Built from lived exposure to fragility inside traditional consulting models.
Why I built it
A few contracts ended within months of each other. Nothing dramatic. Nothing catastrophic. Just the quiet exposure of structural fragility.
Income shifted. Responsibilities did not.
It became clear that the model itself was unstable. Working harder would not fix it. Flexibility without discipline would not protect it.
So I redesigned it.
The Fractional First® Doctrine
Every independent professional and every modern organisation must design within three realities.
Finite by definition. The only input that cannot be replenished. Every doctrine begins here.
The runway that determines what can be built, how quickly, and how much risk it can absorb.
People, tools, agents, access. The lever that multiplies the other two, or the constraint that limits them.
Fragility emerges when constraint is ignored. Resilience emerges when constraint is designed for.
Writing
The published thinking behind Fractional First®. Each book approaches the discipline from a different vantage.
A field guide for the transition.
For the experienced professional considering the move into fractional work. Written for the moment when the CV stops feeling relevant and the offer has not yet been written. A field guide, not a theory book.
A doctrine for the modern organisation.
For leadership teams designing the operating model of the next decade. The argument that fractional is not a fallback for staffing gaps, but a first-class capability strategy for organisations that intend to build resilience within constraint.
A view on modern work
Speed is overvalued.
Intensity is mistaken for progress.
Serious professionals design for constraint. Not intensity.
Resilience is engineered, not improvised.
Applied work
A set of instruments built on Fractional First® principles. Assessment tools for consultants, financial modelling for constraint-aware planning, published playbooks, a facilitated build week, and a marketplace matching client demand to the right practitioner at the right time.
